I started Soup & Story with a simple belief: real, nourishing food should be easy to find, especially when you need it most.
I’m a physician and cancer researcher. Last year, after facing cancer myself, I experienced firsthand how hard it can be to find soups made with real, wholesome ingredients. During treatment and recovery, many ready-made options felt overly processed or disconnected from what the body truly needs. Cooking from scratch wasn’t always possible. So I returned to the simplest solution I trusted, making soup in my own kitchen, using fresh, thoughtfully sourced produce.
What began as a way to care for myself slowly became something bigger.
I realized that so many people, busy professionals, students, parents, caregivers, pause each day in cafés, bookstores, and gathering spaces. Those spaces offer comfort and connection. I wanted to create soups that could live there too: vegetable-forward, nourishing, familiar, and deeply satisfying, yet practical for modern café service.
That’s how Soup & Story was born.
Today, we create thoughtfully made soups designed specifically for cafés. Each recipe is developed with care and intention, then scaled in a way that allows our partners to serve them simply and consistently, without losing heart or quality.
Along the way, I was joined by Frank, whose experience in frozen food manufacturing and marketing helped shape Soup & Story into a brand built for simplicity, reliability, and sustainable growth.
At its core, Soup & Story is about comfort, about creating something warm and honest that fits beautifully into everyday life.
Because sometimes, the best stories really do begin with a cup of soup :)
